Chesapeake Bay Commission Resolution Encourages Trail Expansion, Treasured Landscapes, Conservation

The Chesapeake Bay Commission recently adopted a resolution encouraging actions to further land conservation, public access and tourism initiatives in the Chesapeake Bay watershed. The resolution urges Congress and the Department of Interior to:
- advance the implementation of the Capt. John Smith Chesapeake National Historic Trail and to designate, at the appropriate time, “connector trails;”
- establish a Chesapeake Treasured Landscapes Fund;
- and develop a strategy in response to the President's America’s Great Outdoors Initiative.
